Thks
Suppose it would be handy to find out what module the power comes out of to supply that circuit
Not 100% I’m afraid ref the ambient lighting , what backlighting does work please , assume all the door switches etc are ok , certainly worth checking the CCF settings
Alas maybe the BCM is faulty and the previous owner knew and left it
Think have PIN numbers from the modules would be handy to have , will see if I can find them
Think the sport has the same modules connectors up to 2012 , that workshop manual shows electrical in more detail
Am still looking though all the bits

Meant to ask , have u got a diagnostic reader please, any DTC as I would assume that cause an error ??

Just looked on my 'secret' config screen on the dash. I have 1 zone ambient lighting, and 1 colour. Given that this ambient lighting is fed from the same wire as all the other business it's got to be worth a shot with the CCF?Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

I've got no code reader. Everything else works when you turn the sidelights or headlights on, except the bits previously mentioned. Window switches, centre console etc. I'd just be surprised if the BCM had failed because it seems like such a weird fault.
I appreciate the effort anyway, nice to have another brain involved 😂Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

Cheers , don’t think having a code reader plugged would hurt that’s for sure
Also wonder if just that FET transiter has failed , allowing the rest of the BCM to function normally, don’t know how hard it would be to get that tested if diagnostics didn’t show anything
Don’t know how much help I’ve been, , please keep us updated as personally to save ur sanity I would have it plugged in
Only reason I say that is when I bought my D3 it came with an airbag fault , wouldn’t have stood a chance without diagnostics so bought my own IId , pay for themselves very quickly

The FET should help protect a circuit but they can blow, especially if someone fitted crap LEDs back to front!!
It does sound like a BCM fault, if you’re ambient light is showing a Zone 1 them that is correct.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Just a thought, have you done all your con checks with the connector at the BCM connected or disconnected? Did you check for shorts to earth or shorts to live? If there’s a short I think the BCM or FET can effectively turn power off to that circuit to prevent major issues and it may need the DTC clearing before it will allow power back to the circuit (and obviously a repair). I’m in this boat at the moment with my left mirror heater. I have a short to fix and if I clear the code, all is fine until the heater is triggered and it shuts off and registers a DTC.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Okay so I've just been scrutinising the wiring diagram and found a section for interior lighting, specifically AMBIENT LIGHTING. The ambient lighting in the door handles, bins etc is all run off the same feed I'm chasing. The same red/brown wire in the same connector. What's the betting the Ambient lighting is turned off?
*NB it can't possibly be that simple, can it?Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

Also, resistance to ground from the harness is 686 ohms, so no sign of a dead short. Local Indy has offered to plug it in and if turning the ambient lighting on doesn't fix it he won't charge me 😁Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

Bad News. Autologic suggests there is a fault to ground.
Where do I start with that? Nothing obvious - no damaged wiring visible under the gear lever tunnel bit. Nothing behind the glove box or round the doors.
On the plus side he did enable the timed climate while he was plugged in 🤣Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

Not to hard if you have a fluke.
Set the fluke to diode test range (I use this as I get a nice audible beep with continuity) I’d then disconnect the connector at the CJB and put my pos probe onto the appropriate wire and the other to ground. If you get a beep you have a short to earth. Like I mentioned above, a short would cause the FET to stop power on that circuit so if the DTC suggests a short to earth, I’m confident that’s what you have. Did you get the exact code as I’ll see what the WS manual suggests.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

U2010-11
Switch illumination circuit short to ground.
Refer to elec diagrams and check the switch illumination circuit.
U1000-00
Solid state driver protection active - driver disabled - no sub type information.
Note. When this DTC is present the relevant output is disabled.
U3000-49
Control module - internal electronic failure.
Renew Central Junction Box. Refer to Warranty policy and procedures manual if a module/component is suspect.
So fixing the short and clearing the DTC should re-enable the illumination. Now to find it!!012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

That's the bit I'm not looking forward to 😕
Had a look under the centre console round the gear lever, can see the wire to the various bits, no sign of an obvious short. Could it potentially be one of the components that's supposed to illuminate?
Cheers for the help. The Internet is great 🤣Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."
