This topic got me motivated as I to have a dislike for the red heater symbol and as I have already fitted a FBH on indicator direct from the FBH pump to a LED fitted inside/on top of the original. When the FBH is running the indicator glows yellow, when the lights are on it glows red, when both are on it glows orange, crude but it is better than nothing.
After modifications I have this-

I first tried an LED that would light from 3volts with near catastrophic results, when I connected the battery I got the Christmas tree effect, even the ignition came on with the hazard lights . I disconnected it and cleared all faults with the Iid tool and praise be everything was back to stage one, I checked the voltage across the original LED terminals on the panel and it read 1volt, the next problem was where to obtain a 1 volt LED, I remembered I had a broken LED torch that had 8 LED's and sure enough it worked.
So by removing the red LED from the instrument panel and soldering on two extension wires to the ex torch LED, drilling a 3mm hole into the spare tube on the panel I have the above.
Rear of the panel.
Downsides so far is blue tends to be confusing with full beam I think I will change it for green, the colour is only a 15mm length of electric tape and the temp gauge will not go below normal, hopefully it is just a matter of taking off and repositioning. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Just found this thread.
What I did with mine is shove a tri coloured LED into the dash. (I didn't want to remove the pointers)
Green = Lights on
Red = FBH on via remote (timed)
Yellow = both the above on

There are a few references to the 3 light flash and clock in dash which I'd like more information about. My vehicle never had a fuel burning heater, but it also doesn't have the clock. It's a 2006 LR3 4.4 V8. I would love to flash a new version of the instrument pack, and I have a GAP Integrated Interface Diagnostics tool, but was hoping that some of the old wise men whom originated this thread could help a new enthusiast out for more info about that clock! It sounds like an update risks turning on a red warning light that doesn't mean anything for my truck, but would drive me crazy.
p.s. I don't feel too too bad resurrecting a decade old thread (it was the fella who posted before me who gets that credit!) but there is something poetic about it being 10 years right down to the month! I'll keep searching for answers to this question, which are likely available on this forum, but I also wanted to make an introduction and participate. Any reference links about the clock upgrade which we add to this thread, will help future searchers in another 10 years, right?!holo-andy

Can someone please clarify. There are two updates namely:
MY07
MY07+
My understanding is that both of these add the clock on the dash, and 3 blink indicator, but one activates the redundant red FBH light, for lights on indicator whereas the other one doesn't.
So if you don't want the red indicator choose the appropriate one.
Have I got that correct?
I've never done the update and I have the IID BT GAP tool.
Thanks

Yeap, that’s my understanding.
If you don’t want a red external lights on indicator, then choose the other firmware version.

Thanks Pete for the clarification.
I'm not confident enough to remove the instrument cluster and solder in a green LED. It's beyond my skill level.
