It would appear that wire coat hangers aren't what they used to be. Will need to borrow one or get one from Hess. Either way just put everything back as I need to go out

Thanks for the quick delivery Nick.
Fitted the new wheel in a 20-25 mins and was real easy. If you want to know how to do it:
P.S. remember to disconnect the battery unless you want a face full of air bag |____000_

Prior to use of this tool, the battery of the car should be disconnected for at least 20 minutes
to avoid accidental deployment of the air bag.
How it works:
First, disconnect the battery of the car and leave it off for 20 minutes.
This to make sure that the Airbag can't deploy.
Locate the Access Hole as indicated on the picture. There's one either side of the steering wheel.

Gently insert the Air Bag Tool with the hook part facing you.

There is a track in the steering wheel that the tool follows.

At the end of the track is where the clip is located. Gently hook the clip.

When the clip is hooked. Pull the tool gently outwards to release the clip.

The Airbag will now release on the first side. And you repeat the same steps for the other side.

New soft leather steering wheel fitted and feels a lot better to grip than the old.
Thanks to Nick(TLO) for the super fast delivery plus a few other items and also to Hess for quick delivery of the air bag removal plus a bottle of TSL. Air bag removal only took seconds to release the air bag unit.
Now SWMBO wants to borrow the D3 now it has a better steering wheel that she likes, but I think not as it is all mine.

Thanks Nick, my wheel arrived the next day but didn't get a chance to fit it before heading north for this!

Now back at home and the wheel is fitted, big improvement in the old one.

I guess I'm too late?
I've just picked up a D3 today with 108k miles and the steering wheel is badly worn. Am I too late for this group buy, I see there aren't any space, so I guess so, but wanted to check.
Thanks
Martin
