Elddis Crusader Tempest EB twin axle |

Just wondering if anyone has got one of these - look around one today at Campbells at Kirkham - it has a Avtex high gain digital enabled aerial - curious how that compares to traditional aerials.

I picked up our new Elddis Supreme from Campbell's on Friday. We had a complimentary night at a nearby site called Little Orchard. I installed our Avtex TV in the van which has the Avtex aerial you mentioned.
We have just traded in a Swift Challenger with the directional aerial and never had a problem with a picture on sites all around the country.
However, the picture on Friday night on BBC channels was very poor. So much so it was virtually unwatchable. Saturday morning it was OK.
So, I don't know if it was a poor reception area or a poor TV aerial.
We are off to Bristol & Devon next week so will get a better idea but so far I am a bit disappointed.. Only time will tell.
Cheers.

We have had our Crusader Tempest EB for about 18 Months and have had a great picture wherever we have been. It is a cracking van and i couldn't recommend it highly enough.

So far I have been impressed with the build quality of the Elddis. We had over 20 faults with the Swift in four years and to cap it off, when Campbell's inspected it at the trade in, they found two sections of damp. It will cost about £500 to fix. Swift are covering the cost under the six year body warranty.
This experience makes the Elddis 10 year body warranty even more attractive.

Have had a major problem with the Elddis brand and a total lack of customer care. Would never recommend them and actively advise people not to purchase them. Take a look at the Caravantalk Forum especially at cracked sidewalls and cracked rear panels. Mine was a a buckled sidewall on a brand new caravan on first trip. No it had not hit any kerbs or potholes. Mine was among many others, I even found one on the docks at Calais when I returned from a holiday a few years ago.

On our first trip with our new Elddis Affinity, with Avtex tv aerial, and its not very good.
We are at Park Coppice in Coniston, so yes its a bit rural, but I have never had a problem getting dtv here before with all my previous caravans.
The Tv will only find about 18 channels, and they come and go, so difficult to watch. Several other caravanners on the site have the directional status aerials and they all are working fine with lots of channels.
Another new Elddis owner came up to me and asked how I was getting on with it, as he too was having problems.
So, IMO its a backward step from Elddis. If your buying a new Elddis with the Avtex Hi Gain system, get the dealer to throw in a sattelite system, as you will need it!
