D5 rear registration plate
I know there has been a lot comments about the rear plate, and to be honest I didn't have a problem with it.
Not quite a marmaite case of love or hate.
Looked a bit strange, but horses for courses as they say.
Anyway, had a 50 minute drive home on Saturday evening. 45 mins of it was behind a D5.
It was just getting dark, when I flashed him out in front of me.
45 mins behind the same car can be annoying. However, 45 mins behind the same car where the reg plate lights are right next to the left had rear light cluster, is really off putting.
Can't explain it. Every now and again I would tune out, and for a millisecond couldn't decide why the centre of the car in front is in the wrong position.
Note to self, don't let any D5's get in front of me in the dark....MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

Sorry, but isn't that the same position as the reg plate lights on a D3 \ 4

Funny how it looks right on one car (with a square plate) and not so right on another. I guess it's the lines down the length of a D3/4 issue, or having only one air intake, people will get used to it.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

i have a shorter (but not square) plate on the rear of my D5 as my reg ony has 5 characters - it looks better than a full length rear plate (imho) on a D5

Same plate, yes. But it just looks wrong at night.
I was following a 11 plate D4 last night, and it twigged.
This D4, as mine, has LED rear light cluster, but halogen reg plate bulbs. The reg plate therefor glows.
The D5 had LED cluster (a bit smaller than D4 I think) and LED reg lights. It was screaming reg plate, but they were bright enough to be the reverse lights.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

The weird number plate is just a distraction from the general design of the back end.
