My Sept '11;MY'12 HSE with full factory fit remote timed climate has the valve. BUT I only get 17 minutes of heat and it really doesn't warm the cabin much. But usually the HEVAC starts blowing warming air very soon after starting up the car if the timed climate has been running, so it is warming water somewhere.
I still don't think the fan runs for long enough once there is heat available in the HEVAC. It also goes through different fan speeds during the full cycle and it SLOWS for a lot of the later part of the cycle, when there IS heat available in the matrix. Seems -backwards to me and certainly the whole bang-shoot doesn't run for long enough. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

Robbie,
Have you had your FBH timer extended yet and have you noticed any difference

No not had it extended yet. I presumed that there would be some teething trouble that would have my car back in by now but it is totally faults free and just going in for the heating does not seem worth it.
Just to clarify about the diverter valve, having looked a lot I have yet to see a factory fitted D4 without it on any model year.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I have a 13 XS, without the valve as I don't have it fitted as an extra.
Had it switched on in the software on a cool morning, not overly convinced with it to be honest.
All appears to be working, getting the whooshing sound, the red / amber light comes on the climate control switch, but it still appears a bit to cool.
Any thoughts????

Jjust had my first service at 10000 miles and 1 year. Mentioned fbh not performing to the reception guy and he said that a software update was due and that should fix it. He also said that the FBH was for heating "the pipes" and that a lot of people expected it to warm the car interior which was not what the heater was for Well the thing is performing well now and doing what it is supposed to do- HEAT THE BLOODY INTERIOR. What a plonker they have at reception. I think retraining is in order.

Robbie,
Did you get the running time extended. I was told today it cannot be extended when the car was in for a service.
Any info appreciated.....

I was told that it was done and they showed me the item on the paperwork. I have yet to time it though and I do intend to do a comparative test to the one I did previously. Bizarrely it has been a little warmer than usual; oh and really rather wet.
