Typical egr valves for a 2010- 2012 Mercedes gl amg and the D3 (2,7) are in the 500 to 1000£ range .. So 3k£ is still a bit on the high side

I'm just thinking about my wandering around Rema1000 supermarkets north of the Arctic Circle on my road trips, usually not buying much if anything! Laughing Laughing

Okay. I Wanted to share a litte about my Egr fault and now replacement.

Got the usual Signs and then the restricted power warning.
Diagnostic told me Egr valve was faulty.

New ones cost 3000£. And they where on backorder.

I decided to have a garage nearby to do the work.

First, getting them out was a real PITA, and on one side they had to cut the bolts due to corrosion. left side was by far the Worst.
3 weeks later when parts arrived it took some mendling getting them in. jacking up the engine a litle to get the necesary clerance.

Now total repair cost is close to 5500£.

Under testing car still din not drive fine and after some diagnostic they found that a faulty throttle body was the fault, and probably what made the egr fail in the First place. According to Lr they had to replace TB before after doping egr so common thing. Ofcourse New TB is another 1300£ plus Labour, and Ofcourse it is on backorder.
So total repair Will be in the £7000 + range.

Soooo. If egr fails and it fails closed or if it possible to get it closed. Just do the re-map around the problem and be happy with the extra power.
