Thanks all. I am left thinking now that I'm not going to get anywhere if I try to challenge the 'two x two rated recovery points" rule unless I want to attach some doubtful iron to my vehicle. Oh well!

Maybe worth trying another club even if it is further away?
Maybe it needs a test done in an old chassis?“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

When I did a couple of events with a local 4x4 club, a very major one in the SE, they knew all about D3 and recovery points. They did check things like battery security and (ISTR) steering play. Some clubs have moved into this millennium.
