Dave it was a cracking trip (the parts I did) unfortunately I had to head home on the Saturday night for a family matter, the joys of being a single parent Laughing BUT I will definitely do it again and complete it Thumbs Up

I would think you would be a bit pushed to do it in one day much better doing it in 2, our trips are very social and the camping is part of the enjoyment which is why we allowed 3 days to do it.

Here's a quick video of High Tilberthwaite in 7 minutes (it actually took 1 hour 40 minutes) but that did include a couple of stops and meeting the feckers in the orange Defender Censored Censored Censored Censored coming the wrong way up the lane Twisted Evil

&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 Thumbs Up

There are a few tight squeezes in there and I wouldn't dream of doing it without a spotter who you trust Bow down
 Cheers Ian

The Kielder Safari is a great event (Well I would say that wouldn't I Whistle ) It basically is a day driving around the tracks of Kielder Forest that are not open to the public and all proceeds from the day go to The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team. It is not a balls out off-road day or like a pay&play day, there are some challenging tracks that we use from time to time depending on weather or at the moment pasts of the forest are out of bounds because the Osprey's are nesting. It is a great day out for all the family, if you have a look at our web page and in particular the gallery pages http://www.gton.co.uk/?page_id=113 it will give you an idea of what to expect, there is also a video at the bottom of the gallery page. I would be happy to answer any other questions you have Thumbs Up
 Cheers Ian

Just watched the vid, looks very tight!

Looked at the gton gallery a few days ago, thinking Aug/Sept while it's still dry and I have the Scorpions, then again in Dec/Jan when I'll have the winters...

Thumbs Up

We've done the Kielder safari a couple of times - it's a nice drive. Although it can be tight in places, have never picked up any scratches as they are just pine branches. Nothing like the brambles down here!

It was a great weekend, with some new lanes taken in.
Campsite was spot on, company even better.
Better to do it over a weekend to take in the lovely views of the area.

Here's a link to another video from the weekend, not a green lane but the drive over Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass speeded up. It's a great road if you ever get the chance to drive it although beware of cocks in Audis parking in passing places Whistle

Hardknott Pass & Wrynose Pass in 6½ minutes

Just back from a week in the Lake District, and whilst the most off-road I got was parking on the grass in Wasdale Head, I did the driver over Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass (opposite direction to Ian). Was absolutely fantastic drive - although my vertigo suffering gf was less impressed!
