Click the large button with the blue 'circle' to the left of the central navigational buttons...this brings up the 'menu' screen....go to 'tools' folder...then 'settings'....then 'phone'...scroll down to 'Network'...then select 'Network mode' ..it gives you the option to switch from 'dual mode' to just 'GSM'...select GSM and click OK Thumbs Up

Thanks.

Bit of a thicki with phones, get a mental block. Not even got the GPS working yet. My son keeps telling me that the phone is a lot smarter than me!

First time you use GPS (Maps) you are best to just switch the programme on and leave the phone on your windowsill or better still, a table in the garden (keypad open). It can take up to half an hour to make the first satellite lock. Once you've done this, the next time might take a couple of minutes and it seems to get progressively shorter, although if you turn on the GPS a fair way from the last location it will take a couple of minutes to find itself again.

If it won't lock on after 30 minutes turn the screensaver off and try again. Some software versions get a bit tetchy about the screensaver. If you're struggling with this, chuck it at your son and he'll have it running in minutes.... after all, kids were only invented so they could programme the video recorder, right? Whistle

This is of course if the network provider doesn't force you permanently (whilst in coverage) onto the 3G network....
they do this to relieve congestion on the 2G network, be it signalling or traffic congestion.
It's also a marketing ploy, as at some time in the future the 2G network will cease to be and we'll only have 3G/4G to use:wink:

And if you have N95 on 3 network, the option to use GSM only is removed from the settings menu.... Whistle

well thanks guys for all the help......I like the 95 - still getting to grips with it, but interface wise a vast improvement over my faithful old communicator...but much more delicate !!!! It seems to be refusing to automatically pair with the D3 at the moment, any ideas ?

Possibly you have not set the LAND ROVER as authorised after pairing.
Once you have the car on the list of paired devices, select it, press Options, and Set as authorised. Then it should connect immediately after you open the car (of course phone needs to have Bluetooth switched on Wink ) Thumbs Up

Re: Nokia N95

Do you have 08MY car? I think only such cars' PTI can "see" paired phone's phonebook/contacts list. In all older cars the phonebooks are separate and unfortunately it is not possible to copy...., the car's phonebook needs to be input manually Crying or Very sad

Have you tried just use numeric keys on the left of center console to dial the number? This should work, or just start the call from the phone... then put it down, talking via "hands free" Wink

What about incoming calls - you should be able to answer via the phone buttons on the left hand side on the steering wheel...
Thumbs Up
