They're a good company, it's odd there is no mention of a flushing service on their web pages though Altox GSM FBH controller thread

A local independent I have used, APB Trading in Hartlebury between Worcester and Kidderminster, offers gearbox flushes with a special piece of kit. It's detailed on their website as the Wynns automatic gearbox flush. I was talking to them when I was last there, and they said they could flush my 2012 8 speed with no problems.
Is there some technical issue I should be aware of before I book it in later this year?2012 - 8 Speed D4 HSE in Indus Silver with surround cameras, adaptive headlamps, privacy glass, rear entertainment, 20" alloys.

The 8 has some kind of thermostatic valve that the 6 speed doesn't. That's all I have gleaned from reading various threads on here Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Had the ZF8 speed megaflush done at Bristol Transmission today. Thay used 9.6 liters of Ravenol BTL9020 ATF 6HP Synthetic oil .So a full ATF fluid change was completed. Only drove home from Bristol to the Rhondda .First impressions are a vastly improved selection from Parked to reverse ,Parked to Drive and totally smooth seamless up changes and down changes. Mileage on the Discovery 4 xs is 47380.Total cost including VAT £360.

Not questioning BT but is that the correct trans fluid for the 8 spd
i wasn't questioning them but seeing I've had no response i am now because if there putting that fluid in then its wrong full stop

As above. 6HP oil should be used in the 6HP box. The 8 speed box is an 8HP

Shudder at 1600rpm
My 2010 Discovery 4 has just developed a shudder at 1600rpm which disappears when you push it across into S mode and the revs jump to 2000rpm. Reading up on here and joining this forum today I take it needs a double flush, which hopefully wont turn into a new TC.
It doesn't vibrate below 1600rpm and it doesn't vibrate above 1600rpm, and no other fault calls. Gear changes seem ok.

What mileage is your D4 on? I guess Geoff would be your nearest point of call.
