1 YEAR ON,NOW CAMPING IN FRANCE AND CORNWALL
Thinking of going camping in France this year and found the "Camping Du Lac,Route De Launay,35470 Bain De Britagne" site online.
Has anyone been there and have you any comments?
Thanks,

Not been there. For the last few years, we have gone a bit further South to the Vendee - Camping Le Pin Parasol at 85220 La Chapelle-Hermier. An excellent site and well placed for the beach etc. Going even further south this year though - Camping Les Rivages near MillauNow an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Pin Parasol is quite a nice site (been twice), apart from they tend to stick all the brits together, all the dutch together, etc, which isnt quite why you've gone to France.

The castel site is excellent for kids. Have swimming pools, kids clubs, woods to play in, football, cricket with kids in local town, disco in local village for the older ones, evening entertainment plus loads more.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Pin Parasol very similar. Generously sized pitches, good toilet/shower/laundry facilities, Bar, take-away, 4 pools (outdoor swimming, water slides, indoor heated if weather bad and kiddies pool full of things for the little ones to play on). Lots of organised activities for kids and adults alike. Boating on nearby Lac du Jauney, Tennis court, 5-a-side pitch/basketball court, beach volleyball, table tennis, cycle hire, fishing etc. etc.
Like Al says though, very popular with Brits/Dutch and they do have a tendency to stick them all together. Not being 'encumbered' with kids anymore gave us more choice over when to go and we found it best outside peak time (August), especially as the site has been getting larger and busier over the last few years.
There are sites nearby worth a look at too such as La Garangeoire (85150 Saint-Julien-des-Landes, France, 02 51 46 69 93) and Camping Pong (Vendee, Rue Dustade, Landevieille, Pays de la Loire, 85220) to name just 2.Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Camping Pong again for us this year, first 3 weeks in August. It's a nice site with good facilities, 3 outdoor pools,
table tennis hence the name Pong as in ping pong, not the smell. Lol
We find it cheaper to book it through the caravan club as they seem to get better discounts on sites & ferries.
Site pitches are a pretty decent size, small fishing pond on site, fresh bread & coisants at the on site shop.
We find it serves us well as our kids are 3 & 7 years old and they like it which means an easier life for us.
The weather has also been good, hot during the day but cools off a little later in the evenings which helps when you need to sleep.

O Decisions Decisions,
We were originally going to book into the "Camping Du Lac" for 9 days only because it is close to my sisters farm house and we camped in a Treehouse in the "Domain Des Ormes" last year and found Brittany very good but now i am not so sure.
Might just wing it,the only downside is camping/decamping every couple of days.
To save a long tiring drive home we were going to stop in the lakedistrict for a couple of days also.
We are looking for a campsite that has an outdoor activity centre close by,i.e zipslides and the like.
Any suggestions?
ukdave104,must be a right pain having to walk all that way to the pool

Were heading over on the 2nd July, to beat the rush,
I camped at the "Praire De la Mer" some 20 years ago and would like to go back but just dont have the time at the moment, its a good base for Monaco/Nice/Cannes and only a short drive over to San Remo, maybe next year.
Will probably stay for the Bastille day celebrations then head back to spend a couple of days in the Lakes.
makes it an easier drive back home,2 hrs instead of 1 day.
