So I was on my way to work this morning, pulled into McDonalds to get coffee for office and it stalled... and refused to start again... in the drive-through! Two guys gave me a push backwards and it's sitting there awaiting recovery as I type this!
A couple of time now, I've had ESF, with reduced power, pull over, allow revs to drop to idle, pull off again and all is well - no need for a restart.
Having plugged in my IID I've got P2290 - Fuel Pressure Low, and a couple of other spurious faults relating to the 'Fan Speed High' which have been present for as long as I can remember.
So... In all your collective wisdom, is this HPFP failure?? Or something else I haven't even considered?
Any thoughts most welcome

More likely the LP fuel pump (in the tank).

Might be as simple as the fuel filter. Might also be the LPFP in the tank - could have a clogged filter or have just fell apart.
When mine went with this issue it was the LPFP had gone. Unfortunately at the time it was LR parts only at silly money but you can get much cheaper replacements now - I think Advanced Factors might do one.I see no ships........
I did wonder if it could be the LPFP as it wouldn't start and my research suggested if it was the HFPF it would start... Is that correct?
I should have said in my original post, that it has recently been serviced and had a new LR OEM fuel filter fitted.
Thanks,

Mine wouldn't catch when the LPFP went.
You could check if the belt on the HPFP is OK.
With regards the fuel filter, I found out that a local franchised LR dealer uses 'alternative source' service parts unless you specifically request OEM LR parts in a bid to be price competitive.....I see no ships........
It's been recovered back to my indie, we've checked the fuses in the battery junction box, all seem ok, then moved on to the valve at the back of the engine bay, nothing coming through that with the ignition on, so as far as I can work out, it leaves me with fuel filter, LP pump or the wiring to the LP pump!
Indie is putting it on the ramp tomorrow to drop the tank and check the wiring etc to work out which it is!
I've already scared myself with the cost of a genuine LPFP! Fingers crossed its a wire... But I'm not normally that lucky!
Will be pointing my indie at this...

The Peugeot part does not have a scary price, so sleep easy.

I'll definitely be pointing my indie in the direction of that and hopefully he'll be happy to fit it!55 Plate TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey, Cool Box, D4 Bluetooth, Side Steps, BAS EGR Blanking, V8 Discs, Polybush Dynamics, SNOTM, Three Flash Indicators, HIDS4U LED Sidelights, Replacement Clock Spring, TSL, Auto Box Flush + Dr. Tranny, BAS Remap IIDTool V2.18

According to Land Rover International magazine, you have to lift the body to remove the fuel tank.
They do come out with some clap trap sometimes. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

On a ramp its an easy fix, getting the pipes etc out is longer than dropping the tank, did mine in about 2 &1/2 hours
An electric heat gun comes in handy to warm the plastic fuel pipe that fits on the pump to remove and fit to the new one
Just beware of how much fuel is in the tank when you take the rear filler pipe off, over 1/4 you'll need a container to collect it in.Altox GSM FBH controller thread

beanie - fortunately it won't be me doing the job, as much as I relish a challenge! Although it did have half a tank when it just died this morning!
I'll speak to my indie in the morning and see if I can order one direct from boringoldgit to be delivered direct to him for Friday...

Had to drop the tank on my old Rangie Classic to change the pump, it was full to the brim with petrol. cost me a fortune in fuel cans You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

My first thought was to brim the tank and throw in some Diesel engine cleaner in case it was a blockage somewhere! Thankfully got through half of bit it died on me! 55 Plate TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey, Cool Box, D4 Bluetooth, Side Steps, BAS EGR Blanking, V8 Discs, Polybush Dynamics, SNOTM, Three Flash Indicators, HIDS4U LED Sidelights, Replacement Clock Spring, TSL, Auto Box Flush + Dr. Tranny, BAS Remap IIDTool V2.18
