4 Wheel alignment - Engine on doors closed?

Hi,

I'm about to get 4 wheel alignment done. Am I right they should have the engine on and doors closed while doing so? I have an IID kit so will be putting it in tight tolerance mode first.

Thanks,

Daniel

Yes you need doors closed otherwise the machine wont be able to see the sensors that they'll fit on each wheel.

And yes put it in tight tolerance mode and have engine running to keep the suspension active.

Its worth doing but also worth noting to make sure tyre pressures are even and that all bushes front and rear are tight, otherwise its kind of a waste of money and will need doing again when bushes and tie rod ends are replaced etc.

Thanks for the reply.

It was fine, then I had the alignment done... it pulled to the left afterwards. No surprise as one wheel was very low!

Now it's pulling to the left.... I set the height and had 4 wheel alignment done a few times. I'm hoping it'll work this time, why? Well the bushes were completely shagged! No wonder it didn't work! Your tip is certainly true! Smile

Thanks,

Daniel

Pulling fuse 26 makes the suspension inactive, not really correct for true 4 wheel alignment, the other things to note is are the ride heights set correctly?if not this can throw your alignment out!

Ok thanks, I'll leave the fuse alone. Yes, the heights are correct... that took some time!

Thanks,

Daniel
