Checked the spare wheel and all seems fine. I need someone to sit in the back and work out where the creaks/rattles are coming from.
The problem is that RCV are about 60mins drive away so it's not easy to get down there without taking a morning/afternoon out

We heard rattles and 'swooshing/scraping' noises (on cornering) from the rear and the garage said they'd checked everything. Bugged the hell out of me so crawled around a lot in the back. Turned out the jack, wedges and wheel changing gubbins had just been chucked in the wee space without being in correct pouch and were unsecured so skited about like a pea in an egg box when car was in motion.

Yeah, I checked that out too. The jack and the bag of bits is secured in the box on the lower right hand side of the boot space (interestingly the bag looked like it had never been opened when I checked it and the tools out yesterday). There is nothing in the space on the left hand side lower cubby box despite there being a polystyrene 'holder' - what should be in there?? The two upper cubby boxes are both empty so nothing in there. I might put the seats up and see if there is anything rattling around in there later.
Also, discovered that RCV haven't returned my locking wheel nut thingy. Are these really unique or would the AA have one, just in case I get stuck with a flat before I can get it back from RCV. Or do Halfrauds sell them for a few quid?

LHS cubby is where the removable towbar is housed.
You can get the locking wheel nut socket from the dealer - or better still get them to replace them for normal wheel nuts. anyone nicking the wheels off a D3 needs a medal! Mark.

The cubby is empty, maybe the tow bar is knocking around in the luggage area somewhere. I had a pretty thorough look, put the seats and up and down, shook everything but still can't find anything that feel loose.
The car is going back to RCV on Wed for them to do the 105k service, reset the steering wheel to straight and hopefully return the locking wheel nut. I will mention to them the continued knocking at the rear and will hopefully get one of them to come out with me and diagnose what it is. If I could just get that resolved, the car will be perfect!
Oh and next Tues, it's going for a Megaflush....!

Disco went back to RCV on Wed for:
1) realign the steering wheel (FOC)
2) carry out 105k service
3) investigate knocking/rattle from rear
To cure the rattle they replaced the N/S/R anti roll bar drop link. The drive train certainly has no rattles now, but the original rattle is still there. However, I've worked out it's coming from the trim on the inside of the upper tailgate. I had a mate sit in the boot whilst I drove along and he found that's where the creaking was coming from. I don't know how easy it is to tighten the plastic trim but that's the job for tomorrow. I wonder if some silicon spray around the rubber seals might also help so will be trying Halfrauds tomorrow. When the car goes for it's Megaflush next Tuesday I might ask the guys at 4-Tech if they can tighten the tailgate catches as that might also help.
Drove to Newcastle and back over the last 24 hours. Aside from the tailgate rattle over suburban streets the car drives wonderfully. So quiet and refined on the motorway. Bliss

I had a rattle from the rear that drove me to dispare... Turned out to be the upper tailgate stops ( the ones on the bodywork.) Bit of grease and sweet silence since.
Hope that helps I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.
