HELP WHICH ONE RED S or STORMGREY SE also IPHONE connector |
|
OK - there are two cars to choose from I need to tow a two horse box. LR Dealer full LR service history and I think one owner on each of them.
Red Apr 2006 45600 Diesel Auto 20K S model price 20k Extras are Side Steps, Alpine system, Cold Pack. Dealer has said they will give free service next year, mats and fit Iphone to the system. There are a lot of chips on the bonnet and doors they said they will respray the bonnet and buff the doors. No SatNav so will have to use the Iphone as a SAT Nav, music and phone. Has a Tow bar but think it is a removable one. Like the colour but the chips and the cloth seats worry me also no foldable wing mirrors and I fold mine in a lot on the CRV that I already have, no sat nav but could have the iphone plugged in to use as a satnav, mp3 and phone.
Grey Nov 2006 67000 Diesel Auto SE model. price 21500 k Extras ( I think ) Parrot system. It has an AUX cable at the back of the centre console but do not think it powers will just play.
No chips as far as I can see . Has a tow bar the tilt adjustable, dealer has said the tiltable adjustable one is a lot better then the other one. Grey is a better colour as it does not show the marks and is easier to clean also resale value is better as grey is a more popular colour. The spec is really nice just not sure about the cream leather seats especially with horses. The milage in only 4 years seems very high to me as I am not used to driving a car with this high a milage people have said it does not matter as the engines go on forever. Is this a high milage does it really matter. I know the LR have a big servive once it hits 60K so this would already be done.
I love the toys in the SE model - I want to be able to play the Iphone over the speakers and have it charge and also use it as a phone should I ask for this to be done free of charge is it better then having the Parrot system ?
Which one is the better car
Any Advise would be very much appreachiated

First off... I don't think the mileage is too bad and if anything, I would be querying the abuse dished out to the lower mileage but more 'damaged' red vehicle.
The Fun Prevention Officer's F2 is just going back at the end of lease and will have around 58k on it at three years old... my Audi A6 will go back in 4 weeks with just over 70k on it (again 3 years old) and I will then be in a D4...
We have used the F2 to tow horses and it has the part leather, part fabric seats - whilst the leather bit is black, it has stood up to wet fields, mud and everthing else rather better than the fabric centre sections which are going to require some serious attention from the valeting company prior to it going back. Cream could be interesting but I think you'll be OK! Whatever you do, get a set of rubber mats... ours have been invaluable and will have saved the carpets from serious abuse... same comment goes for a proper boot liner.
As you say, Stornoway will be the better colour come re-sale, as will the SE spec - I would wave bundles of cash under the dealer's nose for the keenest possible deal (or warranty...) on the SE model.
Hope this helps - good luck with the haggling
