Battery charging

Hi guys.
Maybe a daft question but is it ok to put a trickle charger on the disco battery wih the battery left connected up in place? It's had a bit of a battering over the last couple of cold morning here (glow plugs on way out I suspect) and mrs cracking over this morning till battery flat. Managed to jump it but thought a trickle charge over night would be a good idea but not sure if t may damage anything?

I leave my Cetek connected via the trailer socket quite often, specially if I'm not using the car for a few days, no need to disconnect anything. Thumbs Up Clive
