Oil leak
Hi all new to the forum and found it realy helpfull so far
But ive got a oil leak now coming from drivers side of engine R/h drive
its either rocker gasket or brake vac pump but not to sure can only feel it.
ive been told buy garage that body needs to come off to get access to rocker
Can anybody tell me if this is correct or is there a easier way to inspect?
thanks

I have had massive leak on the same side going all the way to the bottom of the block messing up steering rack
it appeared it was cracked oil filter seal which let out almost a liter of oil into the void in of the V of the engine block
grab a thin stick and shove it as deep as you can in the gap around oil filter housing
if you find oil there it might be the same issues as mind or oil cooler gasket which is fiddly job but pretty cheap to fix
hope it helps

you can also take out the secondary battery box out which gives a bit of more access to this side of the engine
but check the void first might be something cheaper than taking body off

leak
check the void around oil filter housing with a stick as deep as you can shove it
if oil there it has to be oil filter seal or oil cooler gasket
do it quick as i been tole them seals killed number of engines already
that where the oli generates for quite a long time and than it overflows freom the back of the block downwords sometimes on both sides
filter cooler with housing on it:

Had a good look today poked a long stick into void and nothing no oil I looked in with torch it's bone dry.
It maybe vac pump but can only feel around the area and lots of wet oil around.
I find it very drastic having to take body off to do rocker gasket

Rocker gasket can be done with the body in place. Fiddly, but do-able.

That's reassuring as I'm getting the same on our used commercial we've not long had. I've one the stick thing just a moment ago so thinking or hoping its the same situation. It's under Warrenty so that's assuring.
