Inroducing Blinky

After being with out a Discovery for nearly 6 years it was time to jump back into the fold.

I've now had my Disco 3 for 3 weeks, it quickly earned it's nick name however. We call it Blinky, as the first evening due to some freak fault in the computer it started to flash all the external and internal lights erratically and unlocking itself, triggering the alarm if I tried to lock it. Now it all seams fine after a reprogramming at the shop the day after.

I used to have a Disco 2 before our first child arrived. It did it's fair share of travelling away from the beaten path and was well equipped for such excursions with a suspension raise, Safari snorkel and proper tires.

I already have some minor plans for upgrades, like headlamp protectors, full length roof rails and tires of course. But other than that I hope to keep this one more stock than my old Disco. The image below will serve well as a before image in the future...

And here's an image of my trusty old Disco 2 that I sold the week my first born son arrived.

Welcome to D3 ownership and the site, I'm sure you will enjoy both.

Regarding the problem you had above.
I suggest you have a read through the thread below as exactly the same thing happened to me on Christmas day. It gets interesting towards the bottom of the first page.

It could be the garage haven't told you what they really did to put it right, but armed with a little knowledge you'll be able to put it right yourself if it happens again.

Thanks Nasher. Before delivery they had fitted a new battery and cleaned the engine bay. Might be that the battery hadn't reached full charge yet and some of the connections where a bit wet.
