" is the key here I think, I made the same mistake with my first D3 and ended up with the exact same symptoms as you have described above, after disconnecting the transmission ECU (with the battery out) and blowing the connectors out with compressed air followed by a squirt of WD40 the problem was solved. A D2 in Kinver sand, it don't get much better than that. I've still got mine. A very rewarding colour to polish......

Ah, Kinversand. Loved the colour so much I completely failed to spot the absence of shock bushes and the fact the bulkhead was made entirely of mud-caked carpet. It also matched the rust on the rear chassis an absolute treat. They don't make 'em like they used to.
