Duty free question
Can anyone please explain why you can't buy duty free cigarettes at UK airports if your flying in side the EU, but you can buy them at EU airports when coming back to the UK : And how come you can buy them on cross Chanel ferries in both directions On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. My understanding is that there is no duty free inside the EU at all, in any direction. It just seems like it sometimes in places like Spain where cigs are cheap compared to the UK for example.

But you can buy UK made fags on the Ferries for considerably less than in UK shops, I used to believe the ship had to be 3 miles off shore before duty free opened, but that doesn't seem the case any longerOn a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)

Way cheaper on cross channel ferries than in the UK or France though, sorry but I cannot see Brittany Ferries footing the difference Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Still not duty or VAT free, maybe paid in a low tax country like Belgium.
