Adaptive Headlamps/Cornering Lamps..

How can I tell if my 2012my HSE D4 is equipped with the adaptive headlights/cornering lamps without going back to the dealer?

The car was advertised as having Bi-Xenon headlamps and is also equipped with surround cameras, the latter being part of the Vision Pack which is now listed as an option.

Thanks in anticipation.... Thumbs Up

Turn on head lights. Have a look at the lights that are on whilst on dipped setting. Should be the LEDs and the Xenon. Switch an indicator on (left or right). Now look at the front whilst the indicator is on and if the left indicator is on you should see another white light on the left hand lights. Switch to the right indicator and you should see a white light on the right hand lights.

You won't see the Xenons move whilst stationary but they move whilst driving at certain speeds.

I'm sure a D4 owner can confirm where the cornering lamp are on the front lights.

I don't believe they were standard even on a HSE but someone can confirm this.

They were an optional extra on the HSE.
Worth every penny - fantastic on back country roads.
The easiest way to know if you have them is if you are driving in the dark and you turn the steering wheel off centre, the cornering light will come on in that direction. Straighten up and it goes off.
You should also be able to go onto Topix (http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/i18n/index) for free and find your car's spec which should include "ADAPTIVE-XENON HEADLAMPS" and "CORNERING LAMPS".

From the manual:

ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS)
When cornering using low beam, AFS will adjust the headlamp beams to provide improved illumination in the direction of travel. AFS is deactivated when:-
• Reverse gear is selected.
• The vehicle is stationary.
• Daylight running lamps are on.
If a system fault is detected the headlamps will attempt to move to the central position, and remain stationary. The AFS warning lamp will illuminate to indicate that a fault is present.

CORNERING LAMPS
When a direction indicator is activated, an additional lamp in the direction of turn is illuminated. This broadens the beam of the headlamps, improving visibility when turning.

Hello all
I have "lost" my near side cornering lamp manual states H8 35 Watts but cannot see any fitting instructions. Is it much of a job to change?
