Remote control T91 for FBH |
|
Morning folks,
I have some questions regarding the remote control.
Has any one installed the remote control T91 for the FBH? I am thinking of buying one but does it come as a kit? Would it also control the cabin fans? Is the Disco 4 kit ready?
Thanks 2005 Disco 3 TDV6 HSE, 2.5" Johnson Rods lift kit, 265/70R17 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires, Heavy Duty front axles, 12.000 lbs discrete mounted winch, Mantec Sump guard, LR Raised Air intake, Albrecht 6890 CB Radio, Superchips ECU remapped, Sprint Booster Throttle Response, K&N air filter, Waeco fridge, 42" & 23" LED bars, Britpart rock sliders....

I have been told you can get a W-bus signal out of a T-91, but it will only trigger the FBH to start, you may possibly need a 1533 timer aswell to keep it running for 30 minutes. All of this is 2nd hand knowlege, so I cannot confirm.
If you want fans to start like the D4 then its alot more work involved.

Hi all,
not too bothered about the fans working, just dont want to wait 20 mins for the heater to start blowing warm air like last winter.
Just to be clear before i lose my £150 notes , do they work in a D3 or do i have to buy the Landrover upgrade and get a D4?
Also if they just turn the FBH on will another remote button press or when the water system gets to temp turn the FBH off? The Webasto blurb on the T91 seems to say you can program different lengths of burn.
Thanks, H

To be honest the cost of the T-91 and the options it gives contra buying a controller from Pete bell is a no brainer IMHO.
I sell Pete's kit in Norway, so some may say I am biased, or are just pushing his kit.
But I have a couple of T-90 controllers sitting her and its just a remote, it sends a signal back to say the commands have been recieved.
The Bell kit can do more, so rather than I make a commercial rant, if your are interested in an alternative controller, I suggest that you may want to search the site for Bells Fuel burning heater intelligent controller, i'll let you make your own mind up.

I don't think they do work in a D3 which was why Wiggs was asking.
You still have options however, without going to the expense of a D4.
In short, there's generally 2 common D3 upgrades ( I know there's others but these are the obvious two) :
Firstly fit a Bell Autos system. Off the shelf, ready to go unit that is well recommended and tried and trusted.
Secondly, make and fit your own system based on a Webasto 1533 oval timer.
Both systems will pre-warm your engine, by running the FBH, for a set amount of time, usually 30 mins or 45 minutes depending on how you configure your install.

Hi, Thanks for all the advice , I've just ordered a Bell system, I dont think i need to reinvent the wheel and the T91 controller will mean messing about with the Webasto in the future probably when its bloody cold
The advise on this site make the difference between liking my Disco and buying a Volvo!
