We've had pretty much every Mac going at work over the last ten years. The i5 13" Air is without at shadow of a doubt the best Mac I've ever had Smile

I'm looking at going through HardSoft leasing and running it through my company. Deals seem to be quite good

I use HardSoft as a way of purchasing and updating at at a known cost and then after 18 months (I think new contracts are 24 months) I give the machine to the kids and get a new one. It means I keep up to date and I don't have additional costs to buy the kids decent machines. I pay £80inc for a machine that would have cost £2.5K over 18 months and I got a rebate of £200! £30 to keep it at the end. Thumbs Up

Just done a quote on a Mac Pro 17" with free upgrade to 8gb RAM and a top line Ipad 3. All in 120 a month. Just looked online and the Mac Pro is 2500 and 700 for the ipad. Free return to bas warranty. Bit of a bargain me thinks, unless anyone knows of cheaper

MacBook Pro 17"?

Had one before?

Amazing machine - had 17" since the Powerbooks and loved them.

Recently though, I swapped for an i7 Air. The MBP was just feeling too big... too heavy... too cumbersome.

The lightweight, 10 hr battery life and portability of the Air is perfect for me when travelling. Aside from serious post production work in Motion or dealing with monster files in Photoshop, an Air is great.

Rumours suggest a move to a 15" MBP with the same form factor as the Air - think that will be a beast.

I recently put an SSD in my iMac's optical bay (and the Air is solid state too). Staggering difference and best upgrade you can do. I'd never have a machine that didn't boot/run on an SSD again.

I didn't want to go a small as an Air. I currently run a Panasonic 19" widescreen and a Panasonic toughbook for offroad navving. I couldn't live with such a small screen day to day. So a compromise is the 17".
Just need to speak to the accountant next week and make sure it is a good deal tax wise and then will be signing the deal with them

Totally hear you Smile Not right for everyone.

I really really wobbled right before I ordered. I was lucky as it's ended up suiting me well. 1440 x 900 isn't too bad either.

I looked at a 17, but went for a 15 and bought a 27" Cinema display. The MBP sits in a Henge Dock most the time, but is available to take out when I need it. Which Pad have you gone for?

My quote was for the 64gb, wifi and 4g. THought I'd get a quote for the worst case and most expensive option. I'm still faltering over the pad. Not sure I'd use it but then I've never had anything like that before so have nothing to gauge it against
