Evening all,
Whilst the D3 was in today having the timing belts done the dealer decided to carry out a health check! They have reported the bottom UJ on the steering I showing wear, cost to replace is £227 inc. is this a good price and is it probably be this, symptoms are you feel a sort of knock through the steering when reversing off a kerb etc. I heard that there is a bush which could also wear? Also front outer track rod end replacement @£280 is this expensive too? Thanks

Thanks boys, how long do you think the UJ would take to replace and should a DIY'er tackle it? how much stripping down is involved to get to it? Also do you think it is that and not a bush??
Thanks

UJ on the steering is a peice of cake
Around £50 to buy and doesn't require hardly any stripping down , you can remove a trim by the servo to make it even easier

There is a lower steering bush that causes the knock through the steering wheel of kerbs etc. It slides within the lower column. It is quick and easy to change - costs £60 ish from TLO
