Engine Managment Lights.
Hi Gang,
Hope you all had a great Christmas....
My engine management light came on this morning after starting up..The outside temp was -2 and I've ran the car for a bit with no power loss and everything sounds normal..
Any thoughts..
Regards Mac...

Would this show if tested, are there any other symptoms and being an 07 can they be blanked.
Finally, taking a deep breath.......I have warranty cover with all the bells on, do you think they will be covered...Just noticed I'm in the D4 side..I'll re-post in D3...

Should show in faults and I don't think 07s can be blanked. Warranty cover would depend on what's covered (what warranty?) and what's wrong (elec issue or carbon build up?).

It will be an EGR issue. Warranty companies usually only cover 1 valve per claim My D3 Build Thread
07's can be blanked depends on month of year, mine is an 07 and it been blanked for a few years..

As I understand it MY06 can easily be blanked, MY07 either not or not so easily. You can get the MY from your VIN plate, it's not inconceivable that an 06MY was sitting around for a while before being registered as an 07 plater. With the last 8 of the VIN, 6A123456 means your car is a MY06, 7A123456 a MY07.

Deffo 07MY. These questions are way past my pay grade, no idea re the spray stuff and don't know about blanking MY07 onwards. Some say you can, others you can't. From speaking to the service manager at my local dealer, it seems that the EML on light on at MOT time is a fail so it's not something that can be left.

Right, after hours on the net.....I cannot blank my EGR...Does anyone know what will happen if I do, just out of interest you understand. I believe BAS is or will be working on a blanking kit for 07 onwards, but has someone on the Jag forum worked out a way of sorting this...
