Webasto heater not working |
|
can you pont me to the link as I am sure this question has been asked before. This morning minus 2 so started the car no problem, heated rear worked ,heated front worked, heated seats worked !! I started the engine and ran it for a couple of minutes before I popped the bonnet just to check on the webasto heater and found it was not working. So can you give me some clues on what to check before I have to go to the stealer and give them a happy new year bonus..... Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

Was it warm? If so, as soon as you open the doors or bonnet it will cut out. Another problem that affects some is if your low fuel light comes on it will lock the heater out. To reset it you need a fault code reader/ clearer or similar, or you can try taking the fuse out for 10 mins (this seems to work for some). Another problem experienced is usually at the onset of winter and the first start up of the unit, it tends to get gunked up from having been sat idle all summer. I always add a generous amount of additives such as redex/ millers ect. Other problems can be low battery level, locked out due to over heating (faulty sensor) failed start on flame sensor, and many more. If you dont have a fault code reader (I bought the FCR from BBS/ Bell autos worth every penny) try the fuse out trick (search on here for previous articles, or take it to the garage for a diagnostics check. Good luck

I've got the over heat sensor fault the last couple of years it has sometimes worked for a while before faulting but this year it's a hard fault and has locked out the heater. Can you get this sensor from a webasto agent ?? Where is the sensor on the unit ??

Mine has started to cut out and lock out. FCR showing overheat sensor, so I think I need to replace mine. It will probably be a call to the UK Webasto dealer, I dont think they cost much, just need to locate it on the unit. Have a look at this http://www.techwebasto.com/marine_main/blueheat/5000700A.pdf

If you want pop over to my place tomorrow and I can check it out for you with my FM see if any faults logged and try a system prime/start. I am just down the road from you.
I have had this FBH overheat sensor on a few cars it seems to be a false positive as if the system is primed and a forced start carried out it seems to work fine, but there is always one that won't.
