If you leave at normal height, there is no 'stress' on any component as the whole system is locked off.

The suspension seems to self level on mine even if it's been switched off for some time. It might be my imagination but the battery seems to last longer if you leave the disco in access mode for extended periods... like when you go on holiday.

Ah but not for wear & tear, lifting DG up 4 inches every day is deffo either wear & tear or cruel & unusual punishment.

On a Land Rover Expreience day I was advised to lower the suspension if leaving the car for a prolonged period. Apparently, if left at normal height the car's system wake up periodically to check the height and adjust it is required. This does not happen when the suspension is lowered, thus reducing the draw on the battery.
