Replacing my Vredesteins with ATR's for the 1st time tomorrow. Vredestein recommend running at non standard LR tyre pressures (39 front 45 back ). Do ATRs work to standard LR recommended pressures?
Thanks

Yes standard pressure but your choice, depends on your needs.
Strange time to change unless the Vredestein's are worn out.
Thanks, yes the Vredesteins are worn out and time for a change after 2 crashes in 2 consequetive Winters on snow with Vredesteins, time to move on.

I've found 35 front and 38 rear to be a good everyday compromise for me. I'll increase the rear pressure if I know I'll be carrying a heavy load/rear passengers.
Maybe start with the standard LR pressures and experiment a little

Any more details available?? Even though I'm an ATR fan I have to wonder I'd they would have made things better or worse. Saying that I did a bit of driving on snow covered roads using ATRs last 2 winters and thought they were great, but not as good as the MTRs I had on the other D3 on deep loose stuff.

MTR's great on deep fresh snow, but not on packed snow and ice. The block pattern and no sipes is not a good combo for such conditions.

Do you mean you had 2 crashes in two years because you had Winter tyres on snow ?
Or because of another reason.

Great in this sort of conditions. Sadly now sold as live in the soft souff.

Hard to say for definite it was the tyres, the driver or the car but yes with Vredesteins on a Disco 3 in snow I crashed on 2 consecutive winters in snow?

I assume that there was plenty of tread depth? I've often read that cold weather tyres need at least 4mm.
I managed to broadslide my disco into a parked Focus last year on some ice with my car shod on Vreds. Not sure any grip pattern or compound would have made any difference to be honest - it was sheet ice. If no wheels have grip, there's a lot of metal out of control...
