Rear 18's have a really stubborn build up of brake dust on them. Have tried my usual cleaner, Autoglym. It's slowly but surely making an impact but am considering Wonder Wheels as it claims to be the toughest cleaner. Laquer is intact but don't want to damage that just to remove the stubborn brake dust.
Any views?

NOOOOO!!!!
Get some Bilberry wheel cleaner, lasts ages (as you water it down) and relatively cheap, added benefit is it smells lovely!

I bought Wonder Wheels in Halfords a couple of months ago and it works a treat. Mine is an 05 with original wheels and they come up like new, no damge to the lacquer although I was careful with it to start with. Half an aerosol cap does all 4 wheels so there might be a couple of litres on Ebay in a couple of years! Powerful stuff though .. . . . wear gloves!

I'd recommend Bilberry also. You can dilute it for normal usage, but if you've got some really stubborn crud stuck on then you can use it neat. Just watch your hands though. Last time I used it neat it stripped a layer of skin off

Never tried wonder wheels personally, but as with alot of these cleaners they contain acid,i'd use cautiously as of time if not washed of properly can leave you with badly pitted and laquer bubbling alloy in need of a refurb
That bilberry gear posted above however, might be worth a punt and its advertised as acid free

Wonder wheels will in the end wreck your alloys. Bilberry is really the best out there, 1 for not harming your wheels (as not acidic) and 2 it does a great cleaning job.
Autoglym is pretty good but very expensive for what you get.

WW will wreck the finish over time
Sonax is good - not acidic (I actually got a bit in my eye once) - spray on, wash off and then wash as normal
