Hi Guys,
There have been a few post on the forum recently about the blanking of EGR and it soon to be a MOT failure? Anyone know if that came in?

As has ben suggested, you cannot blame VOSA; it must be laid at the door of our elected officials who, through the years, have ceeded more and more of our Sovereign powers to the EU. I suppose these regulations are to break us in for the 24 rather than 12 month test period.
What all this has to do with a trade treaty I do not know.CGA

Precisely. Government is trying to sell us on the benefits of a 24-month MOT whilst ushering in a load of other undesirable measures at the same time.No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

There are rules in there about changing the engine management system too i.e. chipping.
Several people are saying this but i have seen no mention of it in any official document.

Interesting 8.2.1.1 covers modification of emission system for petrol car, along with absent or defective, but 8.2.2.1 for diesel only applies to absent or defective.

Yep that might be the directive, however there is nothing in the latest release from Vosa regarding this. What would constitues an illegal modification to a control unit? just because someone has had a remap doesnt make it illegal.

I wonder if this is more along the lines of having EGR systems mapped out, making it an illegally modified ECU. My D3 Build Thread

Coming soon...........and just in time since Merkozy have utter failed to deal with the fundamental issues the Euro faces.
Just take VOSA a year or two to play catch up when we have the great bonfire of EU regulations
Any Europhiles, including all LibDems, please make your way to the nearest exit. These can be found at Folkestone, Dover, Harwich, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Felixstowe, Ramsgate, Southampton and Portsmouth, plus Heathrow, Gatwick, most regional airports, and St Pancras and Ashford railway stations. Please note any Europhiles leaving after today will not be able to reenter the UK should the eurozone self destruct into civil war (not until it has finished anyway). 8)Tony
