Spare wheel -Which way up? |
|
When I purchased my D3 the spare wheel was 'in it's hole' with the outer face of the wheel downwards and I've left it like that.
It occured to me whilst under the car today that the end of the winch cable is not only easier to get to to cut like that, but is also quite vunerable off road.
Should it be that way up?
Thanks

Hole upwards as the winch pulls it into the bottom of the boot floor, the way you have it as you said makes it even easier to cut the cable, although both are relatively easy to cut without a protector

Thanks Guys, looks like I need to reverse it in the garage after work tomorrow and swap it over.
Oh, and I'm working on a Stainless anti-theft plate of my own design.

Spare wheel theft has been recognised by LR as a potential issue and a improved winch cable is available
