Do I have Bluetooth Installed? |
|
Hi there, this is probably a daft question but....
I bought a 2nd hand 2005 HSE V8 a couple of years ago. I has all the buttons for a hands free phone kit but
I am unable to detect any sort of bluetooth signal in the car. Do these come with all the buttons minus the essential bit or is there something wrong with my system.
Cheers for any help here

Not sure on your spec over there but if it has all the buttons and you can't detect any bt signals then it seems like its either not got the bt module fitted or its failed or been disabled.
If its factory fitted bt then you should have a bt module fitted behind the rear drivers side boot panel easy to check by just pulling the panel open at the front end of it by the rear seat. Do the buttons actually work what comes up on your dash display and the radio when you press the buttons.

Weren't the first factory phone kits with buttons behind the steering wheel designed to work with the Nokia cradle rather than bluetooth?

Thanks Flack,
I'll have a check and see if there is anything behind the panel.
BTW: I'm pretty sure this is a factory intall. I pushed the buttons, as you do to see what happens.....nothing.
Note sure on the Bluetooth/Nokia question. My manual mentions blutetooth, with the caveat "if fitted"
Cheers

I suppose you could also try the "search for new devices" in your phones bluetooth menu......mine came up Ford Audio which meant I had the (crap) retro dealer-fit one....and also missed out on the natty "shark-fin" on the roof. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Hi again. Tried hitting the little phone button on the dash and got the message "no phone fitted" displayed on the radio.

Will that work on the std stereo, or do I need to have the hi-line version?

High line bud with the 6cd changer as you need the most bus optics.

You'd be very unlucky to be caught doing that; must be a lot of gurgling!!
