Drivers door open

Getting message in message centre sayin as above, dealer says new lock required, is this likely or is there other possibilities, can't clear message so I can see usual info , range , mpg etc, otherwise I could live with it,everything else working fine locking,interior lights, boing when I leave the key int etc
Any ideas

Had this before - it might be the lock or it more likely is the wiring loom.

Simple fix (that may last a day or a year) is:

1. Lubricate the lock mechanism with WD40 or similar spray lubricant - it freed mine off

2. Open the door, look for the rubber boot going from the body into the door and give it a gentle shake about - if that cures it then the loom is suspect.

Being lazy / tight, I've not replaced anything but do the above as / when / if it is necessary.
 I see no ships........
