adding spotlights to disco 3 '07 bumper
Hi
I'm considering adding spotlights to the front bumper of my '07 disco.
I'm sure i've seen a mounting bracket for this somewhere, but any advice would be appreciated!

the problem with mounting lights on the bumper is "generally", you cant then remove the front grill without removing your spotlights. You need to be able to remove the grill to replace headlight or sidelight bubls (to take the headlight unit out).
I mounted mine to the grill, so that grill and spots come out as one unit, using a plug/socket behind the grill.

Al...
Really interested in how you fixed your spots to your grill,I've recently bought a set of Hella Black Magic spots for my D4,the Landrover bracket to fix them to/through the bumper is £100+ ,then I was quoted £400+ for the stealer to fit it all .Tbh It would be a much better idea to attach them to the grill, would be v.grateful for any info/tips

No problem
I re-inforced the bottom rail by glueing a piece of plastic about 6" long behing the bottom rail both left and right hand sides behind the place where I wanted to mount my spots. It was some scrap plastic left from doing our facia boards.
My spots have a single bolt fixing bracket, so once the glue was dry. I drilled through the grill and plastic, and fitted the spot mounting brackets, as seen here:

Mine are powered the old fashioned way, via a relay triggered off the main bem supply behind the drivers side headlamp. The relay is mounted the box where the aux battery would sit. I took all the wiring to behind the grill, where I fitted a plug and socket, like this:
This makes them easy to remove complete with the grill should I need to get the headlight units out.
As mine are fairly heavy, I also added a stabiliser bar to stop any lamp shake, but to be honest, they were pretty firm anyway.
hope that helps

No, as mine arnt D3 lamps. Mine are genuine LR Safari 5000's, as used on Defender and D2, and the mounting brackets are the standrad ones that came with those lamps.

So, this is a stupid question, but the point you make about grill removal is pretty important. I'm looking at picking up the black poly a-bar offered as the LR brush bar. This can be used to mount lights, as I would. Does anyone know how this will impede the removal of the grill/lamp housings?

Well, they call it a brush bar, which I don't agree with - it's basically an a-bar that doesn't really do what a real a-bar does (nor should it have to, I suppose).
