Everytime a manual is mentioned, out comes the comment
Pfffft I've been hooning around this week and I'm getting the equivalent of 39mpg - back to the topic though I've sent the URL to a friend who is thinking of getting a D3 but will she be able to see the post without being a member?
Cheers,
Al

Hi Al. Yeah mate, she should be able to see the post. If not, take a look on Pistonheads. 9 x photo's on that site. I got 35mpg and 600miles to a tank recently on trip to Ireland using ferry at Anglesey. It was fully loaded too with 6 people and luggage!
Thats the figures on the On Board Computer anyway. I have also done alot less to a tank!

Coincidence. I was just looking out of the window at mine today wishing I had black wheels and wouldn't have to clean them so often.
I'm more of a fan of the original rather than modified look but have to say yours is an exception. Quite a looker. Nov 04 D3 TDV6 HSE Java Black

Cheers Jim. The mods are very subtle so I get away with it! I have loads of idea's and will hopefully mod it a little more if I keep it. Fancy the boot/roof spoiler and black sliders instead of the steps. Was thinking about a black super charger grill too!

Not normally a fan of mod's but this looks great. Having owned a manual Disco before they are great to drive with a little more MPG to boot.
I sold our manual 2005 SE a little while ago. It took a few months to shift because they are not as desirable. My experience tells me that you may need to wait for a heavy winter and the right buyer to achieve your desired price... There's a lot of manual bashers out there which is a shame.
Good luck with the sale.

I had a manual 05 D3 and loved it..nothing wrong with them at all..
The 6 speed box was a peach..
Shame it needed a new clutch towards the end 57 RRS TDV8

Price reduced to 13.995 now. No rush to sell, just taxed for another 12 months. If anyone does like the look and wants it, get in touch, otherwise i'l have the best vehicle for the winter!

Good luck with the sale, and I must say having just purchased a black Disco 3 you've given me some inspiration for the look!
Out of interest, how did you tint the lights?

Its window tinting film. 8)
Its just applied externally to the light unit. The front indicators are a little tricky due to the shape required, best you remove them which takes about 1 min.
If you don't know how, open the bonnet, remove the front grill which has a few plastic push in brackets (4 or 6 on the top and 1 on each side hidden within the grilll), then lift the 2 metal sliders above the light unit. The whole front light then slides out. Remove the power connector and its free!
The tinted film is removable with a hot hairdryer if you decide to remove it. Use a credit card with a bit of electrical tape on the edge to slide across the glass to get rid of air bubbles if its an issue.
You can get spray stuff, but once applied it can look cheap plus it needs to be applied internally and the light units are sealed and I could only imagine problems if I split them open and re-sealed them.
Good luck with the modding, don't go too far, I don't wanna see fluffy dice and cosworth bonnet vents!
