Changing 2 tyres

Looks like our 2 front 19" Scorpions will be needing to be changed around winter time.
Question is could we put 2 ATR's either Pirelli or General on with the remaining 2 scorpions that have a lot of tread remaining? and then go over to full ATR's when required?
As many others, just looking for something a bit longer lasting than ordinary scorpions.

Cheers

Personally I wouldn't, I would imagine the characteristics of the tyres will be vastly different.
I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

You shouldnt, but you 'could' as long as you keep the front 'axle' the same and the rear axle the same.

Characteristics are different as Hobgoblin says, but ATR's are not that aggressive, so you could probably do it IMHO.
Not as much as a difference in going from Scorps to MTR's, that would be a handfull.

Of course best practice would be to get all four (you'd probably get a better deal on 4 anyway, so perhaps better in the long term....

With a couple of bare rims off the forum you could change to 4 new tyres and still etain the good Scorpions as runable spares - or putthem on the Sankey!
