My around-town fuel consumption up around 24mpg since cleaning the sensor. Happy to have done it, thanks again for the tip!

51k on the clock and only moderately gunky. Certainly nowhere near as bad as the MAP sensor on my old 52 plate Isuzu Trooper.
Maybe mine has been cleaned previously...
SWMBO should tell me tomorrow if vehicle behaviour is any different.
Good catch Derek!Club missing my D3

I was getting around 19 previously on the same daily slog, so an average improvement of 5mpg which isn't too shabby.

Had a new egr valve fitted (Drivers side) and also had the MAP sensor out to clean. Getting 29 to 31 with remap. still blowing black smoke out of the exhaust when on full throttle. Problem started when the egr valve broke. Loss of power and rubbish mpg. Any one have an idea for the horrible smoke situation. MOT was past last week at Doncaster Landrover so cant see why im like the red arrows?

Do you have the removable remap? Try taking it off and seeing if it smoked. I cleaned my MAP, smokey on full throttle but fixed by TorqTune reapplied. Then MAP sensor changed, still not massively smokey.

Will Do, Thanks for the tip. After fitting new valve ( befor Map sensor clean) it would be am intermitant problem, you could feel the car slugish one day then the next day it would be ok. It would bring on a warning chime that says that the special programs cannot be selected. Just running it at the moment with a map sensor that is being borrowed, cost of a new one from a main dealer is £137 + vat .

Re price of MAP sensor, if your car is over 3 years you can get the Allegiance discount but "don't ask, don't get". Try PMing Nick (you'll need 5 posts) as he's the Parts God at Yeovil LR (Site name The Large One) and does a good members price. You'll need 5 posts so how's your weather doing??

Finally had some time to check my sensor (after replacing the bonnet struts...). It needed a bit of cleaning
I have received the BAS EGR blanking kit so that is the next project...
