That's very informative and I bet the seller will thank you for pointing that out but the extra £29 plus postage might be a little too much for some people in these hard times, you collected but the buyer might not live that close to TLO so even after a discount from Nick he would still pay postage, last thing I bought off nick was £7 postage on express as I needed it next day ( cheers nick all sorted now) but think you would probably pay £5 standard parcels, the seller did say postage at cost, there is also packaging and if you are like me live in the sticks there is fuel costs to add on unlike Buying from TLO, you then have to think about the time the seller took to remove the item, yes maybe with newyou get garentee but I would like to think if I was buying something second hand I would hope the seller was as honest and decent that they would not sell it if it was not fit for purpose,
At the end of the day people do sell things second hand and it is there choice at what price just like it is your choice to buy new, but at the end of the day people do search around for items and don't blindly buy something without checking out other prices first, this buyer was happy to pay the price the seller asked so I cannot see why you had to put the post up.
Just my opinion

Hi Chris
I've seen several debates on this forum when someone has pointed out that a second hand item seems overpriced, and I don't want to get into a great debate over this relatively small item.
I just don't think that all newbies do know what are good buys and what are not and I feel the great thing about this forum over, say buying off ebay, is that most things put up for sale really are well priced...and if they are not, it is often pointed out. I know "caveat emptor" etc but from what I have seen, most people on this forum are genuinely honest folk and are not out to sell something for more than it is worth.
I guess it is all dependant on age and condition of items, but generally I would expect more than a third discount for buying a second hand, used and weathered, electric fitting.
Just my opinion.

What's the status of this item?
Is it still available & if so, I'm interested...
This dibs system gets confusing if peeps don't pay/firmly commit immediately!
I've asked for 2nd dibs on another one so if I get that, where does it leave me with this one etc etc!
Back to bed methinks! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
