Hello Wiggs,
Thanks for that wiggs. I don't suppose you have any pictures? I will try to nip down to the dealers at the weekend and have a look if I get the chance. I always get the impresion that the dealers don't like you taking to much of a look. I went in to the dealer on one occasion with my camera/phono to take some pics. I had asalesmen enquire as to why I was taking photos.

Well USB option might have to wait a while. How much £510. Land Rover don't believe in giving anything away. Cost the price of a small country to get this far. Should have bought XS but then could have not afforded all the other goodies I have. Panoramic roof, privacy glass, bright pack etc.

Thank for that Pete. It would be really good to add that last little bit.
Update on today. Installed SatNav and connected all components except the speaker cables. Will get round to that in the next couple of days. Started car and satnav fired up okay. Took me all day to finish off the job and it has been a bit cold. I need to use MSV2 Tomorrow to activate SatNav. One problem I have is the airbag light has come on. It resets when I restart the car going off momentarily and then coming back on. To put the Amp in I found it easier to remove the five bolts securing seat. Under the seat is a module (Heated seat Module I think) with a shiny bolt on the side. I rotated the bolt several time believing that this held the plastic cover on the end of the module. Not true. Plastic cover was held on by plastic retainers. So I was kind of wondering what the bolt was for. Anybody got any ideas.
One other little difference I found out today was the CD facia cover for the XS and GS are different. The button that ejects the CD is above the CD aperture on the XS where as on the GS the button is below the CD aperture. Fotunately cover is only £25.00

Have you got the airbag for the seats connected back up ?
Im sure the MSV2 will direct you in the correct location.

Update on Satnav Installation. In principle it is done. I have full Radio, Phone, CD, and Aux-in working on the car. 8) Navigation will not work as the touch screen display unit I have does not have any maps on it. It gives you a message informing you of it. Just need the dealer to install the maps.
One problem I have however is my Airbag light is coming on. Not really sure what this is. No time to do further investigation tonight. I need to put MSV2 on it and check for DTC (diagnostic trouble codes). Below is a picture of a module that sits below the driver’s seat. As can be seen from the picture there is a nice shiny bolt. I rotated this bolt a number of times in error. Can anybody identify this bolt and let me know what purpose it serves. Is this bolt linked to the Airbag system/Seat? If it is I suspect that this is why my airbag light is coming on. Well to conclude I can say it is possible to update your GS satnav to XS spec and it is a great improvement. If anybody else is thinking about doing this upgrade and needs some help, pictures or advice please PM me. Next project RSE/TV. Should be a little easier. Need the parts first but also need to replenish the bank. It is a bit deflated at the moment. Will put some pictures on my Gallery when I get the chance.

The bolt is used to undo the connector as you turn it it disconnects the plug, just tighten it back up.
Re your nav screen, i remember this was a worry about the screen yuo got when we had a telephone conversation about your install. You will need to get a dealer who has the new update cable attachment needed for the mapping update and of course pay him
