My car is 54 se discovery with regular navigation. Is it correct that the TMC module exist in all cars but needs activation. If this is possible. how much would it cost. thanks

No ...the icon can be made to show on the nav screen ( with the correct diagnostic stuff ) ..but to make it work you would need a TMC module , TMC antenna module ...and relevent wiring

i have installed TMC in my D3.......where should i see relevant the TMC icon? i cannot seem to find any TMC icon on any of the screens.
maybe i missed activating something in the ccf w/ the faultmate. i only changed one item....."fitted w/ traffic msg channel"
is that all there is to it ?
my audio system & sat/nav work fine; so it's not a MOST problem; shouldn't be a power problem either. could this possibly be a grounding problem ? i only used 1 of the mounting points on the TMC unit.

anyone else who has done this, where did you mount the TMC unit ? Mine is generally in the same place as OEM, but i couldn't find attaching points.

please help

You should see your icon on this screen. there is also a setting in the CCF for TMC fitted that needs enabling.

Thanks Flack......i do not have the icon.

where did you mount your TMC unit ? did you have any extra mounting brackets ? or just 2 screws in the TMC unit & into the side of the car?

i think i might have a earth problem, trying to sort out where to mount it using both attachment holes?!?!!

thanks

I had a mounting bracket with mine and just used that behind the rear drivers boot panel, it does need to be earthed but if was not earthed you would get a problem on the most loop with it not powering up.
I put a ignition feed to the tmc module and for the tmc amp I just ran a feed off the other unit in the tailgate to the amp.
I think you have missed a setting in the ccf file. Have you got the feed from the amp to the module in the right connector.?
