If you follow Bodsys Brake Bible guide you can't go wrong well within the reach of any competent DIY mechanic and basic tools

hi, re. electric handbrake not coming on with paddle switch, i have had this problem twice, the first time i replaced paddle switch which fixed problem. (about £35)
it seems dust gets on the contacts, the second time i took switch off and blew dust out and tapped on hard surface this also fixed it.
