I agree that getting the tensioners changed at the same time as the belts is sensible.
If you use the genuine timing kit the tensioner's come in the kit
Is the rear belt timed? I was speaking to a local non LR garage today who never changes them as he said they rarely snap like timing belts and if they do they cause no harm anyway and can just be refitted

What does the rear belt do?
Regarding the tensioners, I'll be talking to TLO about the parts so if it's all in one pack then that's great, anyone know how much this costs?D3 HSE MY05 Auto

From another post, it appears that the rear belt drives the injector pump and if it fails the engine will stop, although not be damaged as it would be if the cambelt went. I know what that's like from experience (Not with a D3 though) 2 x on a Alfa 156 and once on a Ford PumaD3 HSE MY05 Auto

Rear belt does indeed power the fuel injector pump and should be changed a the same time as the cam belt.
no timing req and the tensioner comes as part of the kit.

The Landrover kit just gives you the timing belt tensioner & belt. There are two additional rollers (1311306) @ £17.46inc v ea. for the price of them it is advisable to change these at the same time.
The front belt is not a lot of difference than many cars on the road, assuming the tech is competent, has the correct special tools, workshop information & has done one before, then there should be no problems.
The rear belt, yes no damage will occur to the engine if it breaks, but is a little inconvenient while travelling down the motorway, in the fast lane, in which case the 45 tonne artic might damage the engine, as well as the rest of the car Most independents are afraid of the rear belt if they haven't done one, because you can't see it, or access it very well, but to be honest a belt & tensioner & rollers change on both front & rear @ 105,000 miles is not asking a lot.

If you buy a genuine kit do you have a warranty against belt or tensioner failure for the next 105k miles? Ford and Vauxhall used to give this warranty in the past as long as you produced a receipt.Faultmate MSV2 EXTREME

Right - the rear belt powers the high pressure fuel pump. I've had three failures of this pump, so should not have to change it for ages!

Look at the date of my posting!
The retail is dearer now, but identical rollers can be purchased aftermarket for a lot less.
