I think I am right in saying that you cannot tow with a spacesaver wheel fitted, can anyone confirm?

Hi Martin

Looked at the calculator link last night before posting and was still confused hence the post. Not sure what would be deemed as a safe and acceptable difference in the 2 tyre and wheel combinations on the same axle!

The calculator also doesn't take into account the difference the width of the rim can make. A 255/55/19 on an 8J wheel will have a larger rolling circumference than the same tyre on a 9J wheel, where the extra width of the rim means the tyre gets spread out more. If you put a RRS 9J spare on with 19" HSE rims onthe other three corners, your DSC will have a nervous breakdown trying to work out what the hell is going on with your wheel speeds.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hi Alan. Down your way tomorrow for my mum's funeral in Highcliffe.

Looking as if I need to wait for my 5th Maxxis tyre to arrive then as I don't seem to have other options to cater for a puncture

Sorry to hear that Phil Sad

Any spare is better than no spare, even if it means you can only drive at modest speeds and switch DSC off. If it gets you to the tyre place where they can repair your Maxxis, all good.
