No probs
There is enough room behind the trim for a NyLock bolt straight through the door and frame, and maybe is another way of doing it as there is a hole behind in the frame, and IMHO would be a tad stronger bolted through the frame. Good Idea there too

I fitted mine today.
I drilled out the 9mm holes but did not have the Rivnut Tool.
I zinc painted the bare metal in the drilled holes then bolted the rivnuts to the ladder frame.
They ladder is then aligned with the two rivnuts located (but not permantly fizxed) in the new 9mm holes.
This way the Rivnuts are taking a good bit of the weight off the remaining tailgate bolts but the rivnuts are not actually riveted into the metal but held securely in place by the other bolts clamping action. Seemed like a good compromise and its very solid indeed after torquing down.

It appears the pictures here are no longer hosted. Are they still available? I am looking to particularly understand when/how to ensure alignment at top of ladder/door.
Many thanks beforehand.

there is no real alignment - it just clips over the top of the tailgate - its secured under the tailgate handle with some rivnuts.
have you tried ToPix to get the instructions ?

Thanks fellas. I did an alignment run and fitted the ladder without unpeeling the sticky pad that faces the paint at the top. I also placed the bottom seal facing the paint.
two questions:
1). once I peel the top sticky off, how easy is it to adjust alignment. Do I have to be perfect on the first application?
2) the ladder came slightly bent on the bottom left where the light cover is. While I was able to get it pounded back close to original shape, there is a small gap between the ladder and the light cover. Will this be a problem in wet weather?
