Bonnet Open Message

I have a 2006 Land Rover LR3 and recently I've started getting a "Bonnet Open" not "Hood Open" message on the instrument panel. No fault codes reflecting hood/Bonnet.
The right hand side hood latch is new LR OEM.
Any help will be appreciated.

Update 11/25/2023

I have now replaced the latch twice. I have also tried the jumper method as well as moving the switch up and down, and still I'm getting the alarm. Usually I get the alarm around 0200-0300, which has made a great neighbor to have...

Also, the alarm/horn doesn't beep when I lock the doors.

David

Someone posted recently that new latch had an extra lump in it that they had to remove to get it working properly.

The left side of my bonnet needs a really firm close to avoid the screen message (and horn beep when locking). But it never shows any related error codes on the GAP Tool.

Just to help you with the across the pond differences in terminology. Its funny how the english language differs. Here in New Zealand we go more with the British terminology.

Just so you don't get your bonnet/hood, boot/trunk windscreen/windshield, petrol/gasoline, tyre/tire words mixed up.

You are virtually neighbours/neighbors Very Happy

I made an adjustment to the passenger's side latch (moved it down about 1/16th inch and the message went away as did the horn beep when locking the vehicle.

Update 04/29/2024
I have now changed the hood latch 4 times, and every night between 1130-0300 the alarm goes off. Go out to check and the vehicle is locked, and I have that dreaded "BONNET OPEN" message. During the day time I can lock the vehicle, without any horn beep and everything is fine. The battery and alternator are only a week old and working fine. When I'm at home I can leave it unlocked, and the alarm doesn't set off. But when I crank it up I still ge the message
