Discovery 3 2007
My alarm keeps randomly going off Sometimes when locking a loud beep sounds as if there is a door open. Sometimes when turning the ignition to two, system check says bonnet open. I have fitted a new bonnet switch so am now lost.
Please help.

If you replaced the switch but not the catch that may be your issue. If you take a look the catches get all grimed up, they start to stick or not allow the bonnet to go down far enough to trip the switch. Either pull the catches off and fully clean / de grease or get a couple of replacements, they’re cheap enough and removes the chance that the spring in them has gone. 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

The bonnet switches sold on eg eBay are rubbish. The original switch might well just need a good clean. If you kept the original I'd suggest you try that. Worked a treat on my RRS (L320, it's the same) ____

Well I fitted a new switch (EBay by the way) & it did nowt. I then removed the catch, thoroughly cleaned & re-greased it & the problem seems to have gone.
