Anyone ever heard of WabCo compressor for D3?? |
|
As per title really. Car is in garage for a number of things, 1 of them being suspension fault. Diagnosed dead compressor and quoted me on a couple of options.
One option was a non-branded compressor at £250 + VAT for the part + labour fitting.
The other was quoted as OEM WabCo??? I'm pretty sure that Hitachi were the OEM standard originally and have never heard of WabCo but can anyone tell me any different.
Also, before it gets asked. The fault code is C1A13-64 (Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery). I am aware that it could be a simple exhaust valve solenoid or blocked pipework but I just don't have the time, tools or confidence to have a go at attempting it. I did get under the car and at least one of the bolts holding the silencing cover on is rusted and would need cutting/burning off so it's already not an option for me.

Answered my own question. Done a bit of digging and WabCo offer a OE replacement for the D2 or Range Rover L322....the garage has made a bit of a leap to assume the RR and my D3 are the same but pretty sure that WabCo wouldn't fit.

Your are using the wrong garage if you are having to second guess them Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits
