Anyone know what the sensor is on the wheel arch cover?

As per title really, I have a Disco 3 TDV6 and have recently had the inner wheel arch cover off to repair a melted air line. See here if you're interested.

https://disco3.co.uk/forum/help-suspension-went-pop-203804.html

Anyway, I've put the car all back together today and re-fitted the wheel arch cover and remembered that there was a sensor clipped to the top of the plastic wheel arch that I haven't put back in situ. I couldn't quite work out what it was and wondered if anyone here knows?

It was clipped to the top of the wheel arch cover and had 2 green prongs on the end of it? I needed to unclip it from the arch cover so I could remove the arch. Anyway, I moved it out of the way and forgot about it so it's not clipped to the cover anymore (which is not fitted). The sensor itself is still plugged in and from memory, not just dangling about but I'd like to know what it is and whether I really need to remove the cover again to sort it!?

Just a protective cover for plug.
Would be used where tyre pressure monitoring option selected

Thanks but it's nowhere near the brakes. With the wheel arch cover in place you wouldn't be able to see it...it sits on top of it. No orange lights on the dash.

Thanks, it does seem a bit redundant so maybe a plug for an unselected option as you say. I think I need to take a picture the next time the cover is off and re-post.

So TPMS seems to be the prevailing thought then. I have to say, the images in that link do look similar so suspect it's that then. My car is a GS spec and I guess this wasn't optioned.

Anyway, no warnings, no lights and the car drives fine so I'll ignore and move on Laughing

The pad sensor plug is behind the cover but yes TPMS is more likely.
