Lifeboats don’t launch to provide a taxi, they launch to save lives. Rolling Eyes

Would you rather those in peril died?

The RNLI is also a charity, so costs you nothing! Evil or Very Mad

When will the right wingers realise that the RNLI is neutral? All they do is save lives! Thud

Also, Brexit means we can’t send them back to Europe!

Going to bankrupt the nearly bankrupt country.

I cannot believe we have enough people paying taxes to pay for all the shenanagins that are going on.

Any of you boys and girls been to dover recently?

Now who was it said they do not care who is the next U.K. PM as long as they are white and Christian?

Now I do not pretend to be Christian but I am sure the Christian holy bible says something about helping strangers in need.

One has to admire the lack of Christian spirit being demonstrated here whilst wanting a Christian as the next U.K. PM

Sadly we don't because too many businesses are allowed to 'avoid' far too much tax. Unfortunately the extreme right wingers that are currently battling it out amongst themselves to run the country intend to do the best they can to reduce what they pay even further.

You are right they don't launch to act as a taxi. However the immigrants know full well why they launch and as soon as they get into GB waters and a phone signal they ring the coast guard and say "baby has fallen over board, or someone is drowning, or something similar". At which point the RNLI are dispatched only to arrive on scene to find it was all a pack of lies, but now they are there they are accountable and cannot leave them even though there is no lives at risk. These are people who are supposedly poor and at risk but they all have the latest mobile etc.
Sad state of affairs all round.

Perhaps the UK should start to allow people to claim asylum from elsewhere, e.g. embassies. You can't apply until you get here which means genuine cases are mixed in with the chancers / economic migrants. If people with a genuine need could apply in UK embassies, that might help.

And then have mandatory life sentences for anyone facilitating the trafficking of people in to the UK. At least make those that do the dirty work think twice about the consequences.

If you were in a position where all the possessions you had were those you were wearing and carrying, you might want to keep your mobile phone. Wouldn’t you?

Isn’t the answer to vote for the political party which has the best solution at the next General Election. That’s what we’re so often told on this forum. Wink Whistle

You’ve just highlighted one of the flaws in that ideology. Wink

Solution - How about joining the EEA?

It would enable us to:

- return migrants to the EU
- get us over the trade issues we currently have with our biggest trading partner
- resolve the NI issue
- get access to a wider labour force and we can use the tools available to manage them to make FoM work for us.
- remain politically independent.

Can't see a down side. Confused
